Thank you for the great article. I have been researching the best bargain cruiser style bike for sometime. I have found that most which are around £80 - £100, which are really not good, second hand on ebay. I think the best bargains are to buy a used bike that looks about £100 - £200 and will need to be given a service. The problem is that the second handers will not give you any details about when it was serviced or what happened or even whether they carry out all the normal maintenance like oiling, replacing rubber, etc.
Your article made my day. I’ve been wanting to get into vintage bikes for some time now but the costs and logistics involved in getting started were just too much for me to consider. Thanks to this article things have become a lot clearer, and now I have three bikes all ready to go.
The article kept talking about peugeots and I thought that was the name of the manufacturer of the bikes. But I’ve now realised that Peugeot is the name of the vehicle, as in the ones we have as people who ride bikes and as car makers.
Hi there, I found this essay helpful and have learnt a lot from it. l have a couple of questions though. This is my first bike and I'm having second thoughts about dropping so much money on a used(preferably) one in the state it is in. I've always liked the look of it, but ever since I started learning about them, the more I read, the more third hand saga's I read about. Next month I'm off to my first maintenance and service clinic. Would it be avoidable to take as long as I can to make up my mind, or am I setting myself up for a future nightmare? d2c66b5586
